(York, Pa.) Wagman Heavy Civil, Inc. celebrated the completion of the MD 32 Dualization from Linden Church Road to I-70 project on Thursday, August 4, 2022, at a ribbon cutting ceremony. The project team was joined by Maryland Governor Larry Hogan, Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) Secretary James F. Ports, Jr., Howard County Executive Calvin Ball, and MDOT State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) Administrator Tim Smith, to celebrate the occasion.The $85M design-build project for the Maryland State Highway Administration, included converting six miles of a two-lane road into a four-lane divided highway, greatly reducing traffic congestion, and providing enhanced safety for motorists. Construction on the project also involved the replacement of three existing bridge structures and box and pipe culverts, new roadway paving, rehab to existing roadways, new traffic signage, utility relocations and stormwater management.Additionally, the project included 4,500 SF of stream relocation of multiple tributaries to the Middle Patuxent River, including the relocation of the river itself, as well as a one-mile permanent access road that was built parallel to MD 32 for relocated utilities and for a safer entry to the properties that previously had a direct access driveway.“Wagman is proud to partner with the Maryland State Highway Administration in the delivery of another quality project,” comments Greg Andricos, president and coo of Wagman Heavy Civil. “The design-build method of project delivery allowed us to enhance the safety and mobility along this highly traveled corridor efficiently, while also reducing the overall contract value.
