PRESS RELEASE

May 19, 2022

(York, Pa.) Wagman, Inc. took the top spot on the business leaderboard during 2022’s Give Local York, York County’s largest day of giving. The event this year was held on Friday, May 6. Wagman raised $33,960, with 123 employee gifts donated to 61 participating nonprofit organizations. The company also matched 66 employee contributions through their employee matching program. In addition to being an event sponsor, Wagman added a prize sponsorship this year: at 7:02pm, which translates into 1902 in military time (and the year the company was founded), the first ten donors received a $120 match from Wagman in celebration of the company’s 120th anniversary. Leading up to the event, Wagman invited past and present participating nonprofit clients to comment on social media, entering them into a $500 drawing. The winner was announced that afternoon. Give Local York raised a record breaking $4.1 million this year.

Aside from monetary contributions, Wagman also held a clothing drive starting the month prior to Give Local York, benefitting Harvest of Blessing, a participating nonprofit. On Friday morning of Give Local York, several volunteers dropped off the donations to their downtown York location.

Lisa Wagman Glezer, president of Wagman, Inc., comments, “Give Local York is just one more example of how everyone’s contributions each day make a difference and contribute to amazing results!” She continues, “Rooted in York County for 120 years, Wagman’s commitment to community was instilled by the first generation of our fourth generation family-owned business and we are excited to see the passion for giving back to our community continue as part of our company culture.”

Give Local York is a 24-hour giving day, hosted by the White Rose Leadership Institute. For more information on the event, visit www.givelocalyork.org.
